The German Special Interest Magazine Brigitte Launches Its Own Social Network Community

The German special interest magazine Brigitte, directed at women, has expanded its Forum with the launch of its own social network community Bfriends (www.bfriends.de (http://www.bfriends.de)).

"With Bfriends we connect people with identical interests, passions, attitudes or goals. they can get connected on Bfriends and essentially meet in the real world," notes Mrs. Brigitte Huber, editor in charge for new media and co-editor in charge of BRIGITTE magazines she explains the concept of the community.

"Thanks to 100.000 registered users on BRIGITTE.de there is a broad member base that can be transfered to the new community. There new possibilities for women but also for men are given to connect with new people from every area of life."

Bfriends is supposed to be more than just a normal network community.Next to all basic functionalities - profile, groups, blogs, photo albums, forums, etc. - Bfriends integrates Google Maps make "off line" meetings easier. every user can see immediately who lives next to her / him. Bfreinds uses the best of both worlds. The virtual and the real world.

Users can choose between 10 different interest categories . fashion, lifestyle, job&money, health,etc.
The user generated content will be directly connected to the content of the print edition of BRIGITTE. The goal of the company is to make Bfreinds.de the biggest social network community for women in Germany.

"Bfriends is the next big step in our strategy to create the biggest female community around BRIGITTE magazine in Germany," says Antje Ditter from the publishing company Gruner+ Jahr AG & Co. KG. "We want to tie our readers even closer to our magazine but also want to help them connect between each other."
